Description
This digital record presents a part of the original Ka Buke Ekalesa. In 1825, the first group of Hawaiians, notably the Aliʻi, were baptized, and the Native Church was established, setting itself apart from the Mission Church. "The Ecclesiastical Book Concerning the First Church of Jesus Christ in Honolulu 1825" is the church's founding document and registry of the first members. The register was presumably penned by Reverend Hiram Bingham, the first pastor of Kawaiahaʻo Church.
